During my time at Giant Animation I both animated and supervised large animation teams on many diverse productions, from pre-school series (Remy & Boo, Go-Jetters), to action-heavy shows (Sherwood), as well as feature level shorts (The Overcoat). I also animated on teasers and conceptual tests for many projects in development.
Below are longer clips of some of my shots showing dialog.
THE OVERCOAT (2018)
I was Animation Director on this beautiful 30 minute featurette, leading a team of up to 11 animators.
The film was animated on 2's to give a stop-motion feel and the character mouths were achieved with a 2D textured plane that could slide around the face.
I was glad to have some of the more emotional scenes in this very touching story.
CREEPERS (TEASER)
A Giant original IP about monster-hunting kids in a creepy Irish village, the teaser was pitched as a quality benchmark for the series.
The full teaser is not publicly released, but these were the few shots I animated. I also led layout setup for the teaser.
SHORT FILM (TEST)
I animated this proof of concept for a featurette based on the best selling book "One Little Bag".
In this scene Henry is reminded of his father, who recently passed away.
SHERWOOD (2018)
I was a Lead Animator on this 10 x 22min series for YouTube, leading a team of up to 11 animators across three episodes (Ep1 - Robin Begins, Ep3 - Robin Dives Deep and Ep9 - Robin Rebuilds).
It was a challenging series, with a an intense quota. The squid-robots were a nightmare to animate, but I was at least happy that I got to kill Robin's dad in ep 9.
GO JETTERS (2016)
My main credit for this series was Layout Lead on Season 1 & 2, however I also animated on a few YouTube webisodes, namely the dance sequences for Can't Glitch This and That's The Way He Glitched It.
I was restricted to using only two iconic moves from the MC Hammer video for Can't Glitch This --it was pretty funny seeing Xuli's beany body and stubby legs doing the crab shuffle.
